Notices

Every decision of the Registry that makes or changes an entry in a register is recorded in a numbered notice, published on this site on the day it is made. A notice states its number, its date, the kind of decision it records and its subject. The change it records takes effect on the date given in the notice, which is the date of publication unless the notice says otherwise.

Notices are numbered in a single series within each year: the letters RN, the year and a sequence number. A number is never reused. Once published, a notice is not altered; an error in a notice, or in the entry it made, is put right by a further notice of correction that refers back to it. The series therefore forms a complete and unbroken account of the Registry's decisions from its establishment.

12 notices have been published since the Registry was established on 6 September 2026: eight recording the listings made at establishment, one publishing the schedule of fees, one publishing the programme of periodic review, one publishing the assessment framework and one publishing the first statistical release. They are set out below in order of number. The registers to which they relate are described on the Registers page.

Kinds of notice

Listing
An organisation has been certified and entered on the register of member organisations with the status Active. The notice gives the key reserved and the number of the certificate issued.
Suspension
The status of a listing has been changed to Suspended, or a suspension has been lifted. The notice states the ground and the date from which the change takes effect. Systems on the Network refuse a suspended key from that date.
Removal
An organisation has been struck from the register, its key retired and its certificate withdrawn. The notice states the ground for removal.
Change of key
An organisation's key has been changed on its application. The notice gives the former key, which is retired, the new key, and the date from which systems on the Network accept the new key.
Schedule
The Registry has published or changed a schedule, such as the schedule of fees, and the date from which it takes effect.
Programme
The Registry has published a programme of work affecting listed organisations, such as the programme of periodic review.
Publication
The Registry has published a document that governs or explains its own work, such as the assessment framework or a statistical release. A publication notice makes no entry in another register; it fixes the date from which the document applies and the version that is in force.
Correction
An entry in a register has been corrected. The notice identifies the entry, the error and the correction, and refers to the notice that made the original entry.

How notices reach you

The Registry publishes notices on this site and nowhere else. On the day a notice is published it is also sent by email to the point of contact of the organisation concerned, and to any person who has asked to receive notices. To be added to the circulation, write to contact@registry.gov.vin giving the address to be used; to be removed from it, write again. The email is a courtesy. Publication on this site is what gives a notice effect, and an organisation is taken to know of a notice from the day it is published.

For the decisions that lead to a notice, see Certification and Periodic review.
